Supply Chain Analytics Using Excel

The Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management is offering an Excel Course in May 2015. Microsoft Excel is one of the most commonly used tools for data analysis and business decision making. Excel skills are often tested during the hiring process in the OSM industry.

Part 1 (Days 1 and 2)
Discussion of useful formulas and charts, business report generation, and other data analysis techniques.
Part 2 (Days 3 through 5)
Business decision making with Excel. Students will build models to solve business cases in Supply Chain Management.

This course requires you to have basic Excel knowledge. Dr. Jen-Yi (Jay) Chen will be teaching this course. He has extensive knowledge in spreadsheet modeling and decision analytics.


  • Undergraduate students must register for OSM 491 and graduate students register for OSM 696 for May 2015 semester.
  • Register early as the capacity is limited to 30 seats. All materials will be provided.
  • Students must attend all five days from 9 am to 4:30 pm to successfully complete this class.
