On behalf of the faculty and staff in the Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management , I welcome you to our webpage. Please take a few minutes to explore our site to learn more about us, our courses and the curriculum, career opportunities, and the events calendar that lists our activities throughout the year. We are a fast growing department in a fast growing business discipline that offers great job opportunities to our students. Today, the Supply Chain activities constitute 10% of US GDP with 8.6% of the US labor force. Starting salaries is very competitive with other business school disciplines. For college graduates in the logistics/materials management curriculum the average salary is around $50,000, with an excellent upside salary potential.
As a department we are committed to excellence in research and teaching. Our faculty members are active and committed researchers whose contributions are recognized nationally and internationally. They have earned advanced degrees from extremely prestigious universities such as Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University, and University of California at Berkley. We serve undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students and enable them to pursue careers in operations, logistics, and supply chain management. Faculty members are active in scholarly pursuits, including publishing in top-ranked journals in the operations and supply chain management fields, receiving best paper awards and serving on editorial boards of leading journals. The faculty has also been involved in training programs and consulting activities in areas such as Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Innovation Management and Statistical Analysis in the United States and abroad.
The Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management at Cleveland State is one of the few programs in the region that offers a BBA with a major in operations and supply chain management, and I am hoping that you will consider joining us. We have a great community; we have strong ties with the APICS professional organization and our strong relationships with companies in Northeast Ohio provide opportunities for internships and employment. This summer our students will intern in prestigious organizations such as Indians Baseball Club, Cleveland Clinic and Parker Hannifin. Feel free to contact me if you want to learn more about our programs, courses and training activities that we provide here at the Monte Ahuja College of Business.
