"During my final semester at CSU I applied for an Inventory Planner/Buyer position at Invacare Corporation. Heading into the interview process, the primary source of my experience for this position had been my education as an OSM major. Business Statistics I and II, International Operations Management, Supply Chain Modeling, Strategic Sourcing, and Quality Control all taught me the fundamental skills that I used as a basis for my experience.
Now, I am 6 months into my career at Invacare where I control approximately $1.3 million worth of finished goods inventory. I am constantly working with forecasts, variances, EOQ’s, SS, ordering/tracking containers from suppliers (mainly in China), and lead-times, all while being in direct communication with purchasing, marketing, DC management, and transportation. I am truly in an important position in Invacare’s Supply Chain!
I am grateful for the experiences I had as an OSM major. The department has contributed to my success and I would not be where I am at today if it were not for my education."
