Study Abroad to Israel: Open to Non-CSU Students

This Spring 2017 a field-based International Business course with travel to Israel from May 18-29, 2017, will enable non-CSU students to travel with CSU students and observe international environments and study, first-hand, successful companies and competitive industries operating in the Middle East. Company tours while in Israel will include Intel Corporation. Additional company tours will include those operating in the Israeli high-tech agricultural industry as well as its real estate markets. Educational visits are planned to Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and Technion. Cultural visits are planned to a Bedouin camp, Jerusalem and Masada.

Coursework and Class Schedule:

All participants must enroll in 3-credit course at Cleveland State University for Spring 2017 and commit to attend five mandatory class sessions held on CSU’s main campus in downtown Cleveland to be held on Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs on 2120 Euclid Avenue. Class dates are:

  • January 19th, 2017
  • February 16th, 2017
  • March 23rd, 2017
  • April 13th, 2017 
  • May 11th, 2017

The tuition cost for the mandatory course is not included in the program fee.  For current tuition rates, please visit www.csuohio.edu/treasury-services/tuition-and-fees   

SPECIAL NOTE: Students enrolled in some member universities of the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education (NOCHE) may qualify for a tuition waiver. Please see your home university Registrar for details.

Program Fees:

The program fee is $4,499* and includes:

  • Round trip airfare from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
  • Lodging (double occupancy)
  • Breakfast
  • In-country transportation
  • Site-seeing, Lectures and Presentations
  • Local guide and chartered tour bus

*Students should budget an additional $350-$450 for lunch, dinner, souvenirs, and independent sightseeing. Students are personally responsible for passport, health insurance with international coverage, and any ancillary travel expenses.

Application Process and Payment:

Applications to this field-based course are due no later than Monday, December 12th, 2016 at 5:00pm.

Remaining balance for the program fee and tuition are due on January 19th, 2017.

Eligibility:

Any undergraduate student from Northeast Ohio area universities may apply. Students must have a valid passport or be in the process of applying for one.  Students must be in good standing at their home university and eligible for transient permission. This program is open to any major.
