MBA at the Cleveland Clinic

Cleveland State University’s Nance College of Business will offer the Master of Business Administration degree on the Cleveland Clinic’s main campus. The program will be offered to Clinic employees who qualify for admission to the MBA program.

Quality

All Nance business programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), the world’s premier accrediting body for management education. AACSB accreditation assures students and the Cleveland Clinic that the MBA program meets high quality standards in relation to faculty, curriculum, and supporting services.

The MBA program at the Cleveland Clinic features the same curriculum and the same exceptional faculty as the MBA program on our main campus. We are proud of the 96% graduation rate among students in our corporate MBA programs.

MBA Curriculum

The MBA program consists of foundation and advanced courses. Foundation courses introduce students to the major functions in business including accounting, economics, finance, organizational behavior, marketing, business ethics, and operations management. Advanced courses include functional core, integrative courses, and three electives.

The MBA at the Cleveland Clinic will feature three health care administration electives, allowing students to earn a specialization within the MBA program.

Accelerated 10-Week Terms

The MBA at the Clinic will feature an accelerated 10-week format. Students with undergraduate business degrees may complete the MBA program in 15 months. Students with no business prerequisites will complete the full program in approximately 2˝ years. If there are enough students who can be waived from the foundation courses, a second cohort group will be run with advanced MBA courses to permit early completion of the degree.

Cost

Program cost will vary with the number of credits required. Based on the current tuition per credit hour of $439.25, the cost to students will range from $14,056 to $24,598. A modest increase in tuition may be expected in future years. Tuition is billed in installments to permit Clinic employees to apply tuition reimbursement benefits as they complete the degree.

Scholarships

Cleveland Clinic employees will be eligible for two special Nance scholarships: a $1,000 scholarship if the minimum undergraduate GPA is 3.2 and the GMAT/GRE score is 535; or a $1,500 scholarship if the minimum undergraduate GPA is 3.4 and the GMAT/GRE score is 575. The GMAT or GRE is required for all scholarship applicants.

Value-added Support

GMAT Preparation Workshop: A workshop to prepare for the GMAT examination will be offered on-site for Cleveland Clinic employees. There will be no charge to the candidates for the workshop.

Graduate Assistant: The Nance College of Business will provide a graduate assistant (GA) on-site to work with the Director of the Cleveland Clinic Academy, assist with special resources and equipment, and be available to assist professors and students.

Admission Requirements

Admission is based on a combination of a candidate’s undergraduate GPA and the GMAT score. Candidates who have a Ph.D. or M.D. are not required to take the GMAT. A GRE score may be substituted for the GMAT score
