All of our business programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), the world’s premier accrediting body for management education. AACSB accreditation assures students and the Cleveland Clinic that the MBA program meets high quality standards in relation to faculty, curriculum, and supporting services.
The MBA program at the Cleveland Clinic features the same curriculum and the same exceptional faculty as the MBA program at our main campus. We are proud of the 96% graduation rate among students in our corporate MBA programs.
The MBA program consists of foundation and advanced courses. Foundation courses are prerequisites (Levels I & II) designed to introduce students to the major functions in business including accounting, economics, finance, organizational behavior, marketing, business ethics, and operations management. Advanced courses (Level III) include functional core, integrative courses, and three electives.
These three groups of required courses are the heart of the MBA curriculum:
Group A: Functional Core
| Course Name | Credit Hours |
| ACT 600 Managerial Accounting | 3 |
| FIN 601 Financial Management | 3 |
| MKT 601 Marketing Management | 3 |
| MLR 601 Human Resources Management & Labor Relations | 3 |
Group B: Integrative Core
| Course Name | Credit Hours |
| MBA 600 Team Dynamics | 1 |
| MBA 602 International Business | 3 |
| MBA 603 Management of Innovation and Technology | 3 |
| MBA 660 Integrative Business Strategy | 4 |
Group C: Electives
A minimum of 9 hours of electives is required. The MBA at the Cleveland Clinic features three health care administration electives (HCA 555, HCA 615, and HCA 625), which allows students to earn a specialization within the MBA program.
The graduate admission application process involves three steps:
1) submission of an admission application and one-time application fee
2) submission of official transcripts of colleges/university where baccalaureate degree was earned
3) submission of GMAT or GRE scores (not required for students holding a Ph. D. or medical degree).
Students scoring below the 20th percentile on the verbal section of the GMAT or GRE are required to take the following remedial courses in business communication:
GAD 502 (16th through 19th percentile); or GAD 501 and GAD 502 (below 16th percentile)
Students scoring below the 25th percentile on the quantitative section of the GMAT or GRE are required to take OSM 500. Please review the two options for fulfilling the OSM 500 requirement (if applicable).
Admission is based on a combination of a candidate’s undergraduate GPA and the GMAT score. Candidates who have a Ph.D. or M.D. are not required to take the GMAT. A GRE score may be substituted for the GMAT.
Please note that interested students are applying to the MBA program and not to the Health Care Administration program.
