Lou Boltik has worked in global sales and marketing his entire career. Lou began his career with Ford Motor Company following graduation with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Marquette University and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin.
His responsibilities at Ford included Latin American Sales Manager for industrial and agricultural equipment. He also held the position of Special Markets Manager that included management of a $100 million Ford joint venture in Mexico.
Lou also worked at Harley-Davidson where he was responsible for global market development. There he prioritized international markets and developed/implemented entrance strategies and actions for new markets in Europe, Latin America and Asia.
A total of 12 new markets were opened including Mexico. Initial planning for an assembly operation in Brazil was also initiated which opened in 1999. Lou also worked at Federal-Signal, Environmental Products group as Vice President, International Sales where he was responsible for selling street sweepers and vacuum trucks into new and existing markets outside the United States.
More recently, Lou was head of marketing communications at Joy Global which manufactures surface and underground mining equipment. At Joy Global, he was responsible for supporting sales growth by providing sales tools and managing global advertising, product promotion, digital media, branding standards, the website and trade shows. Lou consults with companies to grow export sales in Mexico and other countries by developing strategic, marketing and entry plans.
Lou lived one year in Spain, is fluent in Spanish and has traveled to over 70 countries on business. He is a past member of the U. S. Department of Commerce, Western Pennsylvania District Export Council.
