Join the current Executive MBA cohort for lunch and stay for Dr. Raj Javalgi's International Business class to hear from Nicholas Lubar, recently retired Regional Director - Asia Pacific of Swagelok. Nick retired from Swagelok in June of 2015 after 40 years. In his role, he was responsible for market assessments, distributor selection, international sales, channel management as well as international market development and distribution channels. His most recent experiences focused on market and distributor development in China, Vietnam and Japan.
Mr. Lubar began his nearly 40-year career with Swagelok in 1975 as a field sales representative in Puerto Rico. He relocated to the Cleveland area in 1978 and held management positions with Swagelok in sales and marketing, distribution and logistics and distributor development and support.
He received a BA in Spanish Literature from Columbia University in New York City and a Masters of International Management degree from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management, now a part of Arizona State University.
An advocate for international business education, Mr. Lubar serves on the Business Advisory Board for Cuyahoga Community College, is on the Board of Directors for the Council of International Programs, USA, has assisted in faculty-led study abroad programs, been involved in the development of internship and co-op programs, has helped to foster professional and organizational development, donated to his alma mater's scholarship fund and mentors with the GlobalTarget program at Cleveland State University. He is also the Treasurer of the Edgewater Yacht Club.
