The Certified Management Accountant credential is the advanced professional certification that delivers tangible value. The CMA is the certification that can deliver tangible return on your investment.  According to the 2011 IMA Annual Survey, CMAs earn nearly $22,000 higher annual compensation than noncertified accounting professionals.

Cleveland State University uses IMA's CMA Learning System version 3.0, a state-of-the-art study program delivering today's most comprehensive, customized learning experience to prepare for the new CMA exam. It combines live courses, IMA study materials, and Online Practice Test features which can be used to assess overall progress and to prepare for success on the CMA exam.

These instructor-led review courses will be delivered in two convenient courses, mirroring the two parts of the CMA exam.

CMA Learning System Overview


This program is offered in cooperation with IMA as exam preparation for the CMA exam. The CMA Learning System version 3.0 is based on the most recent CMA body of knowledge.

While the primary focus of this course is to prepare individuals for the CMA exam, the course is also an excellent professional development tool for helping individuals advance their career in accounting, finance, or business management.

  • CMA Learning System (CMALS) Version 3.0, a comprehensive program including text books, online practice tests, and resources directly aligned to the body of knowledge of the new CMA exam.
    • The text books have over 1,000 pages and include a thorough review of critical concepts and calculations, knowledge check questions/answers, 175+ complex questions/answers, 39 sample essay questions/answers, tips on exam preparation, and an extensive reference bibliography.  Tips are provided on how to prepare for the essay portions of the exams, including sample responses and an explanation of the essay grading scorecard.
    • The online practice tests include 1,400+ multiple choice questions with explanations designed to help study an exam section or to emulate a full-part exam, a gradebook to track progress on the practice tests and additional resources, including ICMA’s Exam Content Specifications and Learning Outcome Statements (LOS). The online system is available 24/7, providing flexibility and convenience to study at your own pace and schedule.

Please note that candidates for the CMA exam may sit for Parts 1 and 2 in any order.
 
To become certified, a candidate must pass both parts of the CMA exam, be a member of IMA®, hold a bachelor's degree and have two years of professional work experience in management accounting and/or financial management.

Course fees include in-class instruction, study materials (textbook, participant guide and online practice test access), breakfast, boxed lunch, and parking. Course materials will be distributed on the first day of class. Please register early to ensure that materials are ordered for you.

Refund Policy

Registrants who cancel will receive a refund less a $50 processing fee if we receive written notification at least one week prior to course start date. No refunds will be issued after course begins.
