International Business Minor

The Minor in International Business is recommended for undergraduate business and non-business students interested in careers in global business or want to complement their area of study. A minimum of 18 credit hours are needed to fulfill requirements for the International Business Minor, plus foreign language proficiency. business students already taking the BBA core will need fewer than 10 credit hours to complete the minor.

Admission Requirements

  • Junior Standing (60 credit hours earned)
  • Must be admitted to a major program of study

Curriculum Requirements

The minimum requirements to earn the International Business Minor is 18 credit hours plus foreign language proficiency as specified below.

Foundation Course:
  • INB 301 Introduction to International Business OR MKT 321 International Business (departmental cross-listed course)
Business Fundamentals - Choose 2 Courses for 6 Credit Hours:
  • ACT 221 Introductory Accounting I
  • ACT 222 Introductory Accounting II
  • FIN 351 Introduction To Financial Management
  • MGT 321 Organizational Behavior
  • MKT 301 Fundamentals of Marketing
  • OSM 311 Introduction to Operations Management
International Business Focus - Choose 3 Courses for 9 Credit Hours:
  • ACT 360 Accounting in International Business
  • ECN 382 International Economic Relations
  • FIN 465 International Finance/Investment
  • INB 488 Multicultural Marketing
  • INB 493 Special Topics in International Business
  • MGT 487 International Management
  • MKT 461 Global Mktg Strategy
  • OSM 425 International Operations Management
  • ONE course from below may be selected:

    • MKT 440 - Field Experience Abroad
    • INB 490 - International Business Internship
    • INB 491 - International Study Tour
    • Oher CSU-approved study-abroad program for credit or cultural studies course - subject to approval by IB program director.

Second Language

Students pursuing the minor in International Business are strongly encouraged to enroll in intermediate-level World Language courses for further skill development.
