Prepare for the C.P.A. Exam

The Nance College of Business can help you prepare for the Ohio C.P.A. examination.  For more information regarding the educational requirements for admission to the Ohio CPA examination, please consult the Accountancy Board of Ohio's website at http://acc.ohio.gov

Basic Educational Requirements for Ohio C.P.A.

  1. The State of Ohio requires all students to have earned a baccalaureate degree to include a minimum of 150 semester hours of college credit.
  2. From the courses listed below, a minimum of 30 semester hours in accounting must be completed, with covereage in auditing, financial accounting, management accounting, professional ethics, and taxation. Please note that more than 30 semester hours of courses are listed below.
    • ACT 221 Introductory Accounting I (Financial Acct)
    • ACT 222 Introductory Accounting II (Managerial Acct)
    • ACT 321 Cost Accounting
    • ACT 331 Intermediate Accounting I
    • ACT 332 Intermediate Accounting II
    • ACT 361 Tax I
    • ACT 388 Accounting Systems
    • ACT 441 Advanced Accounting
    • ACT 451 Auditing (NOTE: Internal Auditing is not a permissible substitute)
    • ACT 462 Tax II
    • ACT 484 Governmental and Institutional Accounting
    • BLW 411 Business Law and Ethics
  3. A minimum of 24 semester hours in business courses other than accounting.  Economics and information systems are permitted to count as business subjects.

Becker CPA Review Course

In addition to providing the necessary courses, CSU also offers the proven Becker CPA Review Course. Becker alumni pass the CPA exam at twice the rate of non-Becker students. Taught by a highly qualified professional, this course provides comprehensive and detailed material on topics relevant to the CPA exam. The program includes:

  • Books and lectures
  • PassMaster software
  • Simulation software
  • Two mock final exams for each section
