Tom Moore is President of Moore & Associates, Inc, a marketing and advertising consulting company. Moore & Associates was founded in January 2001. Previous to that, Moore was Chief Executive Officer of the Wolf Group Cleveland, an $80 million office of the $500 million Wolf Group, and Executive Vice President at Ligget-Stashower Advertising, a $70 million Cleveland-based integrated marketing communications company of which he was a partner for 20 years.
He has strong experience in all phases of marketing planning and strategy, advertising, promotion, media, branding, and market research. He has enjoyed success in all integrated marketing disciplines. He has considerable experience in retailing, food, house wares, hardware, DIY products, health care, children’s products, and organizations, including Dirt Devil, Sears, Firestone, Sherwin-Williams, The Convention & Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland, Brown Derby, Newell/Rubbermaid, and Little Tikes.
Moore also teaches marketing and management courses at Cleveland State University. His credentials include an article in The Harvard Business Review and speeches on marketing subjects to national audiences. He has been the lead subject of the New York Times advertising column.
Moore has an MBA in marketing from Cleveland State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, in Advertising from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
Moore was recently inducted into the Cleveland Advertising Hall of Fame. He is a past president of the Cleveland Advertising Association, and was named National Advertising Club President of the Year for 2001 by the American Advertising Federation. He is currently Governor of the Fifth District of the AAF and serves on the board of the Shaker Schools Foundation. He is a former chairman of the Cleveland State University, Monte Ahuja College of Business Visiting Committee, former president of the board of trustees of the Center for Mental Retardation, former national chairman of the communications committee for the Association for Retarded Citizens, and a former director of Beech Brook.
Moore lives in Shaker Heights, Ohio with his wife Shirley, three children, a rescued terrier and a loud goldfish. He has fallen far from his school singles tennis form but is proud to be resisting the suggestion to take up gardening.
