ESSCA, Ecole Superieure des Sciences Commerciales d’Angers, is a member of the prestigious “Conference des Grandes Ecoles,” an association of the best business schools in France. The main campus of the ESSCA Groupe is situated in the city of Angers, in the famous Loire valley region of France, with sister campuses in Paris, Cholet, and Budapest (Hungary).
Bachelor’s Degree in Business: 3 year program.
Master in Management program: 2 year program, taught in French.
MSc in European Business: 2 year program, taught in English.
MSc in Fashion Products: 2 year program, taught in English.
Budapest International Management Semester (BIMS): runs twice a year, from September to December (BIMS Fall Semester) and February to June (BIMS Spring Semester).
You can plan to spend from one semester to one year abroad. The academic calendar is similar to the U.S. with the fall semester running from September to December, and the spring semester from January through May.
Exchange students have access to courses according to the level of studies in their home university. The majority of the courses are taught in French, with some also taught in English and a few in German and Spanish. Housing is not provided by ESSCA Groupe. Exchange students are responsible for their own housing during their stay in Angers. ESSCA will assist students in locating housing.
A total monthly budget is estimated to be between 450 and 650 Euros. Students 28 years of age and under are obligated to pay French Social Security of 180 euros. This health insurance covers 70% of the cost of all medical and hospital expenses, and is valid for one full year and can be used in all EU countries.
The city of Angers is in the heart of the Loire Valley, an area recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Angers has a population of 156,000 people in the downtown area and 260,000 people in the surrounding areas. Angers weather is rather unpredictable, but the Angevins are rarely confronted with extremes of heat or cold. The average daily temperature in winter is around 41 degrees Fahrenheit and in summer it is about 66 degrees Fahrenheit.
