Robert H. Rawson, Jr. was appointed to the Cleveland State University Board of Trustees by Governor Ted Strickland on June 28, 2007 for a term ending May 1, 2016, replacing Timothy J. Cosgrove, whose term expired. He was elected Treasurer and served as Chair of the Financial Affairs, Audit and Facilities Committee in 2007-2008. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board, a position to which he was elected and has held the past two years, as well as Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee.
Mr. Rawson served 15 years as partner-in-charge of the Cleveland office of Jones Day. Although he stepped down in 2007, he continues as a partner with the firm. He is also serving as Interim Dean of the Law School at Case Western Reserve University. He has served 20 years on the Board of Princeton University. He is a former Chair of the National Civic League and currently serves on the Board of the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education. Bob and his wife, Judy, who served the City of Shaker Heights for 21 years and two terms as mayor, were honored by the Cleveland State University's Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs as the 2009 recipients of the In Tribute to the Public Service Award.
