The Galleries at CSU are proud to present: 1307 Euclid Avenue: The First Exhibition as the inaugural exhibition of our new venue. The first faculty group show in 15 years, THE FIRST EXHIBITION includes recent works in all media by studio art faculty, as well as past and present teaching staff.
Artists displaying their works include: Irina Koukhanova, Qian Li, George Mauersberger, Russ Revock, Mark Slankard, Robert Thurmer, Michael Gentile, Janet Mikolajczyk, Stephanie Craig, Terry Clark, Catherine Rozmarynowycz, Nancy Halbrook, and others.
In addition, JENNIE JONES: A PHOTOGRAPHIC LEGACY FOR CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY will be on display in the South Gallery. Jennie Jones is a celebrated Cleveland photographer who donated the collection of her works to CSU’s Michael Schwartz Library in 2009.
The Galleries at CSU are located in the historic Cowell and Hubbard building in the heart of the University’s new Arts Campus at PlayhouseSquare. From 1920 to 1981, the site was the flagship location of Cowell and Hubbard, Cleveland’s oldest jewelry store, hailed as one of the finest jewelry stores west of New York City.
The renovated venue features three distinct exhibition spaces (North, Center and South Galleries), a multi-purpose media space, a resource library, and a meeting area, as well as state-of-the-art lighting, surround sound and new-media capabilities.
