On the 2nd of January 1997, Robbie Kirkland, a gay fourteen-year-old high school freshman, took his own life rather than return to school after winter break. Robbie had struggled with his sexual orientation and the external pressures from school, religion, and society. For Robbie, the Arts became an important means of self-expression. This exhibition of high school and college students' work addresses issues of diversity, respect, and acceptance.
