The etrog box is a cylindrical container on a circular stand of wood used to house the etrog, a citrus fruit, one of the symbols of the Festival of Sukkot. The Hebrew letters for the last three words of a blessing—“The One who created this fruit of the tree”—are stylized as part of the design of the box. The design is painted in layers of vivid colors and gold.
