Cleveland State University Art Gallery

Located in the College of Arts and Sciences, the Cleveland State University Art Gallery features world-class, thematic art exhibitions and related educational programs including guided tours, lectures and publications. Community-based exhibitions, student shows and programs dealing with important social and critical issues round out the Art Gallery schedule, serving the University’s urban mission.

Students throughout the University gain an aesthetic understanding from the works on display, fostering intellectual inquiry and promoting a critical understanding of the relationship between art and society. In addition, students majoring in the arts learn job skills in the field, gain professional experience in the administration of not-for-profit organizations, and obtain insider knowledge about the business of art.

The Art Gallery is widely recognized as a major contributor to the cultural life in the region, with annual attendance from Ohio and abroad in the tens of thousands. The Gallery is proud to serve a diverse audience representative of the entire Northeast Ohio community. The Art Gallery is funded by Cleveland State University with support from the Ohio Arts Council, the Britton Fund, American Greetings and Friends of the Art Gallery with project support from a variety of other sources.
