| "This exhibition is the first installment of two exchange exhibitions between Cleveland, Ohio and Bratislava, Slovakia.
As official sister cities, Bratislava and Cleveland share certain similarities such as climate, population size, and a history of smokestack industries. In addition, Cleveland is home to the largest Slovak community outside of Slovakia. Close to 850,000 Northeast Ohioans trace their ancestry to Slovakia.
The exhibition was curated by Viktor Hulik and consists of work by himself and eight other contemporary artists who are natives of Bratislava: Milan Bokay, Jozef Jankovic, Ivica Kroslakova, Juraj Melis, Igor Minarik, Dali Polivka, Peter Roller, and Rudolf Sikora." |
