CSU Inaugurates Sixth President: Dr. Ronald M. Berkman

The inauguration of Dr. Ronald M. Berkman, CSU's sixth president, was one that pointed to the promise of the future for the university as well as its place in the City of Cleveland, where revival, restoration and resurgence, he said, are inevitable. "I don't love cities despite their problems. I love cities because of their problems. In overcoming obstacles that seem insurmountable they display a nobility and courage in the face of diversity that I find inspiring. Do your worst; you can knock a great city to its knees, but it always staggers back to its feet," Berkman said in his address, highlighting his thoughts about urban education and his plans for CSU. CSU Wins Crain's Cleveland Business Emerald Award
Energy-friendly renovations and construction position the university to save $60 million over the next ten years. Of sustainability, Jack Boyle, VP of Business Affairs and Finance said: "It's the right thing to do, environmentally, and I think our students are going to demand it." Boyle added that the cost-savings benefit make all of the university's work "a win-win-win situation." Click here to watch more.
