Cleveland State University and the Fenn College of Engineering extend sincere gratitude to alumnus Ronald Ledin who recently endowed the Fenn Academy through a generous donation. The Ronald R. Ledin Fenn Academy Engineering Education Endowment Fund will provide annual funding for Fenn Academy, a partnership among CSU, local high schools and corporations that promotes engineering education and careers. Mr. Ledin was integral to the creation of Fenn Academy in 2005 and provides valuable feedback from an industry perspective.

Ronald Ledin graduated from the CSU in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He completed his degree as a part-time evening student while maintaining a full-time teaching position and working part-time at Middough Inc., an engineering consulting firm. Engineers without Borders in BelizeEngineers Without Borders is Building in Belize

Cleveland State University’s student chapter of Engineers Without Border continues to fulfill its five-year commitment to improving the quality of life in a remote village in Belize. The village’s highest priority is to build a new school building that will double as a hurricane shelter. With over three years of assessment trips to Belize and planning on campus, construction of the school broke ground this April. Three separate groups of CSU students and faculty advisors traveled to Belize this year to aid in the construction and oversight of the school. Follow EWB’s progress on its website.

Fenn College's 41st annual Order of the Engineer Induction and Student Award Ceremony was held on April 26th in Drinko Hall. More than 40 seniors and three honorary members were inducted into The Order of the Engineer by taking an ethical oath and receiving a steel ring that serves as a symbolic reminder of the obligations of being an engineer. In 1970, CSU was the first U.S. school to host the Order of the Engineer Ceremony, becoming the first “link” of the Order that now includes 189 links nationwide.
