Aging and Memory Loss: What You Need to Know
Presenter: Katherine Judge, Ph.D. Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, Cleveland State University Adjunct Research Scientist, Margaret Blenkner Research Institute of The Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging As the population ages, a growing number of older adults will face symptoms of memory loss/dementia. This rise has tremendous implications not only for those with the illness, but their families, caregivers and the health care system as well. Dr. Judge will discuss "normal" versus "pathological" changes in memory processes, the functional, psychological and societal impact of the illness, and resources and strategies for effective communication, managing memory, staying active, and recognizing emotions and behaviors in those who are impacted.
