West Side Market After Hours
Wednesday, May 14, 2014
5:30 – 9:00 pm
This 101-year-old institution is the oldest operating indoor/outdoor market space in Cleveland. It is home to over 100 vendors of great ethnic diversity, selling meats, fish, fruits and vegetables, baked goods, dairy products and even fresh flowers.
Open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, the aisles are usually clogged with shoppers and tourists. By visiting after hours, your guide will be able to share information about the architecture, the food stalls, and the history of the merchants and their families.
Afterwards, at Market Garden Brewery, enjoy dinner and a beer while your guide continues the story of the market with a slide show of historical photos and memories gathered from the people who worked there. Here, too, is the Cleveland State University connection, as the brewery's founder, Sam McNulty, is a CSU graduate.
Tour begins at the West Side Market
(1979 West 25th Street)
and ends at the Brewery.
$65.00 (CSU alumni, staff or student over age 21)
