Student Success Specialist Team


You and your student success specialist will work together to:

  • make sure you complete your English and / or Math classes - ENG 099, 100 or MTH 087
  • monitor your academic progress, provide support and key referrals across campus as needed
  • discuss your future plans and schedule classes
  • help you learn about CSU and all that the university offers


 

Maria Barone, M.Ed.

A lifelong resident of Ohio and fellow Viking, Maria is happy to work with students and assist them in accomplishing their academic goals as they work towards degree completion. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications at The Ohio State University and her Master of Education degree in Adult Learning and Development at Cleveland State University. She has been with CSU since 2011 and previously worked as an undergraduate advisor in the Monte Ahuja College of Business. Maria enjoys being outdoors and spending time with friends and family.

Marina Mone, M.Ed.

A native of Vlore, Albania and a proud two-time alum of Cleveland State University. Marina earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Master's degree in Adult Learning and Development. During her time at CSU she worked as a Peer-Mentor with the Trio/Student Support Services program and also interned in the Monte Ahuja College of Business undergraduate and graduate Advising Offices. Marina enjoys assisting students and helping them as they progress towards graduation.

Midori Lebron, M.A.

Midori Lebron is a proud Cleveland native and first in her family to earn a degree. She attended Baldwin-Wallace College and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree double majoring in Sociology and Criminal Justice Studies. As a result of her curricular and co-curricular involvement she decided to pursue a career in higher education. She chose Bowling Green State University and earned her Master of Arts degree in College Student Personnel. She is excited to be a Viking at Cleveland State University.

Monica A. Starks, M.A.

Monica earned an Associate of Arts degree from Cuyahoga Community College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Tiffin University, and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Cleveland State University . She has worked in several capacities in higher education, as a Success Coach, Academic Advisor, Adjunct professor in Sociology and Supervisor of the Assessment & Testing. She has a passion for working in higher education particularly where she can make an impact on students' lives.

Pamela L Kromer, M.A.

Pamela grew up in Northern Ohio and graduated from Bowling Green State University with Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing. In 1992, she moved to South Texas and worked in Student Services for 16 years. There, she earned her Master's degree in English at the University of Texas. After moving back to Ohio in 2009, she worked at Lorain County Community College as an Academic Advisor. And now, she is very happy to be living in Cleveland and working at CSU!

Ralph Walker, M.Ed.

Ralph is a proud two-time CSU graduate earning his undergraduate degree in Communications and Master's degree in Adult Learning and Development. Ralph enjoys working with students in a university setting as they progress towards earning their degree. In his spare time, he enjoys playing Golf and listening to Live music.

Rudolph Chavez, M.Ed.

Rudolph is a native of Lorain and has spent numerous years working with first generation students. He has earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University and a Master's in Education degree from Kent State University. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
