General Education at Cleveland State University

Effective Fall semester 2008, CSU has implemented a new system of General Education requirements. This transfer guide is only for students who are following the new General Education system.

Transfer students admitted to CSU in Fall 2008 or after automatically default to the new General Education system but may elect to follow the old (pre-Fall 2008) General Education system if it is more advantageous for them to do so. This is available to transfer students who have been continuously enrolled at Lakeland Community College prior to Fall 2008 and have been following a CSU transfer guide.

Transfer students admitted to CSU in Summer 2008 or before are following the old General Education system and should not use this transfer guide.

Students are strongly advised to discuss their options in relation to General Education and the transfer guides with a CSU academic advisor.

College/Program Specific Course Equivalencies

Many programs require or recommend specific Lakeland Community College courses be completed to meet program and general education requirements at CSU. You must review the transfer guide specific to your program before making course selections from the General Education Course Equivalencies.
