Transfer guides are available for students at Columbus State Community College, Cuyahoga Community College, Lakeland Community College, Lorain County Community College, and Owens Community College who wish to transfer to Cleveland State University. Each guide provides a listing of community college courses that will count towards the various General Education categories and major programs at CSU.

Effective Fall semester 2008, CSU has implemented a new system of General Education requirements. There are two types of transfer guides: one for students following the old General Education system and one for students who are following the new General Education system (GenEd08).

Note:

Transfer students admitted to CSU in Fall 2008 or after automatically default to the GenEd08 system but may elect to follow the old General Education system if it is more advantageous for them to do so. This option is available to transfer students who have been continuously enrolled at a community college prior to admission and have been following a CSU transfer guide. This option is available through the Summer 2010 semester.
