Congratulations on your admission to Cleveland State University! We encourage you to review a list of important dates and deadlines for scholarships, financial aid, Honors Program, housing, and special events. We also encourage you to use the information below to learn how to:
Meet with an Academic Advisor
All admitted transfer students are encouraged to meet with an academic advisor prior to registering for classes.
Register for Orientation
Transfer students are encouraged to attend orientation. The program provides an overview of the University, assists students in acclimating to Cleveland State, and allows students to register for classes. Orientation is also a great way to meet fellow students. To learn more about this program and to register, visit www.csuohio.edu/orientation.
Apply for Financial Aid
Students apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov (prior to beginning the application, a PIN number must be obtained at www.pin.ed.gov). Apply for Scholarships
Transfer students are considered for scholarships for fall semester only. Awards are based on your college GPA. Cleveland State's scholarship committee begins reviewing admitted transfer students in early January. Students are contacted as the scholarships are offered. If you receive a scholarship, you will have until May 1 to accept your award. Visit www.csuohio.edu/financialaid/scholarships to learn about scholarship opportunities and how to apply.
Apply to the Honors Program
Transfer students entering Cleveland State with a minimum of 60 semester hours are eligible to apply to the Upper-Division Honors Program. Students interested in the Honors Program must submit an application (download application, Adobe Acrobat Reader required to download application). Honors applications should be submitted by January 15, 2007 in order to receive the best consideration. Applications are subject to a comprehensive review by the Honors Program selection committee.
The Honors Program notifies students of their acceptance on an ongoing basis, beginning in the fall until the incoming class is closed. Students who have been admitted to the Honors Program have until May 1 to accept their scholarship.
Apply for Housing
Admitted students are eligible to apply for housing. A housing application will be included in the welcome packet sent to admitted students. To secure a space in one of the University's two residence halls, students should complete and return the application and a non-refundable $20 application fee as soon as possible.
Visit
Now is a great time to visit our campus. You can visit and tour the campus on a weekday or Saturday, arrange a personalized visit to fit your needs, or participate in a group tour.
Attend Special Events
Attend one of the special events held exclusively for admitted students.
