Returning Students

The University welcomes students back to school, including those who previously attended Cleveland State and those who earned a bachelor's degree at Cleveland State or another regionally accredited university or college.

Returning to Cleveland State
Eligible students can initiate their return to Cleveland State by following the below procedures:

  • Students who previously attended Cleveland State and have subsequently enrolled at another university or college need to apply for transfer admission.
  • Students who have not enrolled at Cleveland State for one or two semesters (including summer) and are in good academic standing can register for courses online through CampusNet.
  • Students in good academic standing at Cleveland State who have not enrolled here for three or more consecutive semesters (including summer) and have not enrolled at another university or college can reenroll at Cleveland State by completing the Leave of Absence form.

Post-Baccalaureate
Students who earned a bachelor's degree at Cleveland State or another regionally accredited university or college and want to take undergraduate courses can apply for admission as a post-baccalaureate student.

Academic Dismissal Readmission
Graduate students who previously attended Cleveland State University but were academically dismissed can petition for readmission by completing a Graduate Student Petition Form.

Undergraduate students who previously attended Cleveland State University but were academically dismissed can petition the college academic advising office for the major in which they wish to return.  Contact your College Advising Office to determine the petition procedure.
