Congratulations on your admission to Cleveland State University! We encourage you to review a list of important dates and deadlines for scholarships, financial aid, Honors Program, housing, and special events. We also encourage you to use the information below to learn how to:
Register for Orientation
Incoming freshmen are required to attend new student orientation. The program provides an overview of the University, offers academic advising, prepares students for their first year, and allows students to register for classes. Orientation is also a great way to meet fellow students. Orientation programs begin in March of each year for incoming freshmen beginning their courses in the fall. Apply for Financial Aid
Students apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov (prior to beginning the application, a PIN number must be obtained at www.pin.ed.gov). Scholarships
Cleveland State awards scholarships to incoming freshmen based on academic performance. All freshmen who are admitted for fall 2008 will be automatically considered for academic scholarships. Scholarship notification will begin November 1, 2007 and will continue on a funds available basis until April 1, 2008. If you receive a scholarship, you will have until May 1 to make a decision to accept your award. Visit www.csuohio.edu/financialaid/scholarships to learn about scholarships and award criteria.
Apply to the Honors Program
Students interested in the Honors Program must submit an application (download application, Adobe Acrobat Reader required to download application). Honors applications should be submitted by January 15, 2008 in order to receive the best consideration. Applications are subject to a comprehensive review by the Honors Program selection committee.
The Honors Program notifies students of their acceptance on an ongoing basis, beginning in the fall until the incoming class is closed. Students who have been admitted to the Honors Program have until May 1 to accept their scholarship.
Apply for Housing
Students interested in living in Fenn Tower or Viking Hall must complete a housing application. Housing applications are available online and are included in the welcome packet sent to admitted students. To secure a space in one of the University's two residence halls, students should complete and return the application and a nonrefundable $20 application fee as soon as possible.
Visit
Now is a great time to visit our campus. You can visit and tour the campus on a weekday or Saturday, or participate in a group tour.
Attend Special Events
Attend one of the special events held exclusively for admitted students.
