Cleveland State University will be offering scholarships for 20 incoming first year students who plan to pursue a major in one of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) disciplines. The scholarships will begin in the fall and continue throughout the 2012-13 academic year. They are renewable each year for students who remain in good standing in the program until the end of spring semester 2013. Students will be selected from the successful participants in one of the university’s summer mathematics enrichment programs. Students who place into second semester calculus (Calculus II) or are at a higher math level do not need to participate in a summer math enrichment program to be considered. Preference will be given to students graduating from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
