Student Success in Mathematics

Six northeastern Ohio institutions of higher education entered into a partnership to help bridge the gap in mathematics preparation between high school and college. The collaborating institutions are Cleveland State University, Case Western Reserve University, Cuyahoga Community College, Kent State University, the University of Akron and Youngstown State University. Each institution will be offering 20 scholarships each year for the next four years to students interested in pursuing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) major. The scholarships are funded by the State of Ohio and the criteria for the awarding of the scholarships varies among the six institutions. For additional details on how to apply, please follow the links to each institution's site that are located in the column to the right.

Are you interested in applying for a scholarship? Here is an online application form:

• The University Scholars in STEM has scholarships with an annual value between $2000 and $10,000. This scholarship is funded by the National Science Foundation. This program is for students entering their sophomore year of study, having a GPA of 3.0 overall and majoring in a STEM discipline. No new applications for 2012-2013 are being accepted at this time due to NSF funding issues. Please check back in the fall of 2012 for more updates.
