Retirement Plans
All University employees are covered by a State of Ohio Retirement Program—the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) for staff, the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS) for faculty, or the Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP) for eligible staff and faculty. Monthly retirement plan orientations for full-time faculty and staff are posted on the HR webpage at www.csuohio.edu/HRD.CSU and its employees do not contribute to the Federal Social Security System; therefore, the retirement benefits you may receive from your work at CSU may reduce any Social Security benefits for which you may be qualified. However, 1.45% of earnings are withheld for Medicare. Fact sheets are available from Social Security which describe reduction of benefits in more detail. Contributions
Contributions to the plans are a percentage of eligible retirement earnings:
